This post is going to be mostly about Spring Awakening. Does it hold a very special place in my heart? Yes, indeed. Who am I to thank for this sweet love? A friend of mine, who is very near and dear to me; Miss Sara-Jane Shepperd introduced me to this lust filled show. My love for it is not worthy of comparason to her enfatuation with the show. I love Spring Awakening very much and I also love her very much. The not-as-important rest of the post is about a "king" of counrty music. We shall format this premiere post in a numerical fashion. Let us begin!
1.) Spring Awakening is tied for first place in my favorite musical standings. The play it is based on is Spring Awakening: A Children's Tragedy by Frank Wedekind. I searched for the play on Google Books and was told that Barnes & Noble had the book for 9 dollars and some odd cents. Today my mother, sister, and I headed off to B&N despite sick nasty weather. I asked the helper man where I could find the book, he willingly helped me and took me over a few rows and down near the end. He looked and looked for it but it was a no-go. Now, I understand that a book can go out of stock, whatever, it happens all the time right? Well, the lovely man informed me that they had to order it, and that they had ordered it but this particular play was really hard to get. He (I should have read his name tag) also told me that because the musical had just been in town, a bunch of (stupid) people started buying it. At this fact I was outraged. I wanted that play, I needed that play. It was the first book that I had read (first six pages on Google Books) and not wanted to stop reading since reading my current favorite book (An Abundance of Katherine's* by John Green) which I had read a long time ago. UGH. I want to read it so badly it pains my heart to think that I may have to wait!
2.) WTF GEORGE STRAIT!?! OKAY. So my sister, Emily, is into country music. She told me that George Strait is having a midlife crisis. I asked her how she knows this and she told me to look up his newest album cover called Twang. I did. And oh wow was she right. Here is the epic picture.
*My most favoritest book ever. Go read it. Seriously.
George Strait looks CREEPTASTIC in that picture. CREEPTASTIC.
ReplyDeleteI love you. Your love of Spring Awakening is just as fervent as mine! I know it is! I know it is!
